Nonprofit CEOs Paused to Move Forward

Nonprofit CEOs had time to laugh, reflect, and reinvigorate at the CEO retreat. From left to right: Kay Roper, Cancer Survivors Park; Rev. 33 nonprofit CEOs took time to reflect and recharge during a daylong retreat at Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, NC. A team of CEOs, led by Andrea Smith of Senior Action, planned a meaningful and restful day for their peers. Activities included facilitated dialogue with Phillip Wilder and Ann Marie Stieritz, pickle ball, guided meditation, time in nature between the raindrops, crafts (really! just like summer camp!), and lots of free time for conversation and relationship building.

The consensus was “we needed this!” Attendees said, “I thought the event was a great opportunity to collaborate with, encourage, and learn from other nonprofit leaders in a relaxing and non-threatening environment” and “two days next year please.”

Plan to join us next year when the team will build on what we learned. Special thanks to the committee members, Suzie Foley of Greenville Free Medical Clinic, Charlie Hall of Upstate Warrior Solution, Adela Mendoza of Hispanic Alliance, Lisa O’Connell-Hall of Jasmine Road, Caroline Robertson of Greer Relief, and Catherine Schumacher of Public Education Partners.
